52 Weeks of Gratitude is a year-long (haha just kidding, it’s like taking me two years) blog prompt that aims to bring the writer a deeper sense of Gratitude. You can see the list of prompts back on Week #1’s post! (And I usually link up with Ember Grey’s Monday Grateful Hearts series, so be sure to check that out!!
#20 A Friend
How could I do a friend post without telling you about my Maid of Honor? One of these days I’ll finish posting my Colorado trip and tell you how we got engaged. Soon- but it was too hard for awhile with all the Steel pictures involved. But, I’m feeling the urge, just need the time. Back to Sadye.
Sadye and I met way back in 2008 at a mutual friends Bachelorette night (see above – we were so young!). Sadye was the first one there, which proved to be the last time she was ever on time for anything. I KID. Kind of, but she knows I’m always late, as well, so we’re even. Years passed and our “friend of a friend” status changed into “friends” and then “besties”. I am truly excited for her to be beside me when I marry Mr. Coffee and I know that she’s stoked to be my Maid of Honor. Looking back on that first day we met, I knew she was awesome from the start – but I didn’t know just how important to me she’d become. She’s been there for me through thick and thin, always tells me how it is, and I wish every day we didn’t live an hour away from each other. She’s hilarious, happy, bright, smiley, spitfire, a bit of a smartass, and full of just plain good, amazing energy. Out of all of our memories, I think my most favorite moment so far was being there and holding her little baby girl on the day she was born. A little girl who means the world to me, who loves me so much back, and will be my Flower Girl! Love you Sadye and am so grateful to have you in my life. You’re my person.
Do you have “a person”? How did you meet?!
